Favourite Bible Verse?

Ezekiel 22:30 (TNIV)
"I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.

Many have asked me if there was one favourite bible verse, which would it be? And without hesitation I would point them to Ezekiel 22:30. I received this comment once from a friend in regards to that being my "favourite" bible verse was, "That's scary...".
In Isaiah 63:5
"And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold..."

The first time I came across this verse, it struck me really hard, got me thinking. What is my purpose? In all this? Upon much thought and meditation, I believe the task here is a prophetic intercession with God on behalf of the people.

The wall spoken in Ezekiel, is not made of stone, bricks or cement, but of faithful people united in their efforts to resist evil. The broken wall couldn't be repaired because there was none who could lead the people back to God. The feeble/weak attempts to repair the gap through religious rituals or messages based on opinion of men rather than God's will were worthless, only covering the real problems! The underlining issues in humanity! What people really really need within them is the spiritual "reconstruction" of heart, mind and soul.

When we give the idea that loving God without living his ways, we are in fact walking down a very dark road. We are actually covering up sins that will eventually damage us deeper. Don't use religion as a whitewash, "repair" your life by applying the principles of God's word.
Then join others, in pursuit of truth and "stand in the gap" and make a difference for God in this world!

Nothing can never desire to be something, but something can desire to be something else...

I'll end this with an observation made by fame British thinker/writer G. K. Chesterton
"There is a dislocation of humility in our times. We have become more confident in who we are and less in what we believe. Our pride has moved us from the organ of conviction to the organ of ambition, when it is intended to be the other way around. In short, our confidence should be in our message and not in ourselves..."
