A letter from Michelle of YWAM Yei (Sudan)
Hi everyone!
First and foremost, thank youthank you so much for all your support ? It has been a
wonderful week here in Yei. Busy yet I was still able to find time for rest. Two of our
colleagues are away for a few weeks but we are thankful to have Daniel and Angela filling in during their absence.
YWAM Yei base will be expecting several teams from
USA, Australia and Tanzania to arrive between the November to January, 08. So, yeahit can get rather crazy here ?
Preschool Update
Preschool is doing really well ? It almost felt like a regular preschool in Singapore
and Sydney. Despite small challenges with the teachers, the school is improving. I have engaged a couple of local carpenters to make a few tables for the school and from the look of the shelf they have made for me; I believe they will be able to make us very sturdy furniture.
These preschool children are definitely benefiting from your kindness ? Here they are
enjoying their snacks during recess. I dont think its necessary for me to describe how they feltjust look at their faces in these pictures ? It was so funny though when I caught some of them hiding their biscuits or bananas in their uniforms; nibbling slowly during class or to sneak the food home to their siblings!
Oh yes, we have a small accident at the schoolA little girl from my class got a tiny button stuck in her right nostril during recess while she was getting a drink at the borehole. This was what she said, I threw the button into the air and it fell into my nose Hmmm. Lia came over to help but we found the button wedged tightly in her nostril. We couldnt remove it without causing her harm. So we had to get her father send her to the local hospital.
Shes okay now ?
